Kootenay Powder Tours
We’ve expanded our horizons a little further west into the heart of British Columbia’s West Kootenays, in the South Selkirks mountain range, to Red Mountain Resort in Rossland and Whitewater Winter Resort in Nelson. These areas have long been recognized as some of the most reliable destinations for powder seekers.
We're keeping both Kicking Horse Resort and Revelstoke Mountain Resort in the itinerary; these two vertical giants have treated Canadian Powder Adventures well, delivering us consistently excellent snow conditions, uncrowded slopes, and endless hiking options.
West Kootenay Classic - $2695 (double occupancy) $2895 (single occupancy)
The West Kootenay Classic is a nine-day tour that visits Revelstoke Mountain Resort, Whitewater in Nelson, and Red Mountain in Rossland. Revelstoke’s resort boasts the largest vertical of any ski area in North America. Two years ago the resort expanded with a quad chairlift in North Bowl, and an extension to the gondola down to the brand new base area where heliskiing and catskiing are also offered.
Whitewater is located in the shadow of Mt. Ymir and is famous for deep, dry powder and perfectly gladed tree runs. This season sees the second since the expanded terrain off the backside with the Glory Ridge Chair. The mid-week crowds are small, and the locals are friendly and welcoming. And the food in the lodge is fantastic.
The locals in Rossland had been sitting on a gold mine for decades, until the last few years when Red Mountain’s village development got underway. There’s been a lot of clean up of overgrown gladed terrain, opening up some of the best fall-line tree skiing found anywhere. Red has always been well known as a leg burning paradise, small in size, with lots of hidden powder stashes.
